Bidvertiser Review

I have an account with Bidvertiser from last 3 years, but I have hardly ever used them on my sites because they didn’t performed very well in the first month (3 years back) I used them. Recently, when I was trying to diversify my earnings away from Google Adsense, I thought I will give them one more try to see whether they have improved with time. This post is my review of my latest 30 days experience with them.

On 2nd of October, I put their ad code on one of my “money making” site, on which Adsense was not a very good performer. Adsense is giving very low CPC for such “money making” sites. Somebody told me that Bidvertiser works best for such sites. So I decided to give it a try for one month. Though I was not much enthusiastic about it.

After 15 days of running Bidvertiser on my site, I was happy that I took that decision. I making around $600 per month from Adsense from that site. But with bidvertiser, I made $410 in just 15 days. So, that should make around $820 per month for me. An increase of 36% over my Adsense earnings.
Bidvertiser Review

After seeing those results, I got over enthusiastic and put their ads on two more sites. One site was pet related and other was related to jobs and employment. Now after another 15 days. I reviewed them again against my Adsense earnings. On my pet related sites, they made only about 60% of what adsense used to make me. Similarly on jobs and employment related site, it made me around 70% of what adsense used to make me. Not happy.

So what is my conclusion?
Well, first thing is clear that if you have a website telling people how to earn money, Bidvertiser can make you better money. But it may not work for some other niche market.

So, don’t just assume that the advertising network you have on your site is what works best for you. Always try and see what works best. Give it at-least a month month trial period, because first one week to two may not work very well.

They also have a very good referral program where you earn $10 when your referred publisher earns $10. They also give you additional $40 when the same publisher earns $50. So in total, if you publisher earns $50, you also get $50. That is really great referral program giving $50 per referral publisher.

This is the reason I love their affiliate program.

Adsense Review

While a lot of people attempt to attract potential customers to their websites in order to purchase products, there are still tons of people who are able to earn a decent living through creating websites with the hopes that customers will get to click on ads. Believe it or not, some ads could pay a slew of dollars for each click.

Though some think of this as a weird business model, the fact of the matter is that such a model works specifically when contextual advertising is used, like Google Adsense.

Basically Google puts ads on your site for products which are related to the content of your site. If your site is primarily about iPods, Google ads will then show iPod-related goods.

Still, creating an effective site which ranks high in the search engines and is also optimized for high-paying ads is quite difficult and even tedious. Graphic designer, internet marketer and UK resident Adam Carn claims that there is indeed an easier way via his self-created product called Adsense Big.

Basically, there are a number of ways to make money through the internet. One can sell products, offer for-hire services or recommend products and work as an affiliate.

Another current option is via advertising websites such as those made possible by Google Adsense. While such websites provide useful info, they also carry within them ads from other companies which might offer goods that your site’s visitors could find interesting. The instance visitors click on such ads, you will be able to make money, at times tons of it.

Believe it or not, Adam claims that he is extremely lazy yet he was able to make as much as $20,000 per month merely from Adsense on his site. He also is able to make more than $50,000 per month.

Compared to other eBooks, Adsense Big does not pitch users the info but the actual site itself. Adam claims that the same site template has allowed him to earn $40,000 each month, purchase a house in Spain and acquire a Porsche.

Essentially, Adsense Big is a site template optimized for Google Adsense. The product claims that you can achieve the same financial result if you buy the exact template for $97.

Simply, Adsense Big is a ready-built 1600 page website that is complete with advertising, hundreds upon hundreds of articles on topics which attract high-paying advertising revenue and a built-in search engine.

All you need to do is purchase a domain name, upload the site and promote it in order for major search engines and customers will know it exists.

A program which comes bundled with the site will instantly insert your specific Google ID in every page to allow you to receive credit whenever someone clicks on the ads.

With regards to website set-up, everything is plug and play. You need not work on building the site since once it is set up, it is essentially good to go and no tweaking is necessary.

Simply promote the site as much as you can through article marketing, forum signatures or in any way Adam recommends you to do.

Also included in your purchase of Adsense Big is a Free Traffic Report that includes techniques the author used to instantly get traffic. It also provides free email tips on how to promote your new site. If you require assistance in uploading your site, setup help is also available.

Do note that Adsense Big’s original cost is at $297. But Adam was able to mark it down enough for it to cost $97. Also, Adsense Big arrives with a money-back guarantee of 30 days.

Be aware though that Adsense Big will not be able to make you $40,000 per month at the onset. It might not even make you $4,000. You basically need to do lots of promotion so you could start making a large enough income with Adsense Big. Remember that though Adsense Big carries with it lots of potential, you also need to take such a potential and harness it to the hilt in order to see the results you want to get.

However, as of May 2008, Adsense Big has been oversold – despite it delivering what it assures users it would.

Basically, it has been delivered a lot of times that duplicate content penalization is now a problem. If you take a page from its built-in site and place them under Copyscape, you will see that hundreds of copies are already available for the exact same thing. Also, a few did not even bother to edit the title, content and tags. The only thing that changed was the URL.

Overall, Adsense Big has received lots of positive feedback online. Also, it is considered as one of the best Adsense-related products on the marketplace of Clickbank. Do note though that once purchased (for $97), you are one among the many who similarly received the exact same content.

Google Adsense Review

One of the most well-known and popular advertising networks on the internet, Google’s AdSense offers its users a way to monetize their sites through both ad links and the Google search feature. Its main draw is that the advertisements it offers are targeted to fit the content of the page on which they appear and the search terms that are entered into the search field.

This means that the advertisements it displays are more relevant to the content of the site on which they are posted, and therefore more likely to be clicked by visitors to that site. This is a major innovation in advertising and still fairly uncommon among ad networks, and has proven much more effective at earning money for site owners than untargeted advertisements.

In addition, Adsense provides a variety of ways to customize both the ads’ appearance and the way in which their value is reported, making it a very comprehensive and straightforward provider of relevant advertisements.

Features

AdSense works by instantaneously auctioning off the available advertising spaces on a site to various advertising companies.

The default form of advertisement available from AdSense is CPC, but CPM may also appear on sites if the ad agency chooses the site and wins the auction, but these types of ads cannot be specifically requested by an AdSense user.

The advertisements are targeted by language and geographical location as well as content, and include both large and small businesses in a wide array of categories.

Google chooses not to officially disclose the percentage of profit it takes from what the advertisers pay for its services and ad space. The New York Times, however, calculated from Google’s published financial reports that AdSense partners receive 78.5% of the profits that Google makes off of their ad space.

Controls

Adsense accounts are managed by logging into www.google.com/adsense. From this page, users can customize their accounts in a variety of ways. Firstly, they may control whether to enable ad links, the Google search feature, or both. If advertising links are enabled, the site owner may choose whether to show only text ads, or to also allow image and video ads.

AdSense also offers link units and referral buttons, which can be enabled or disabled. Furthermore, the appearance of the enabled ads can be customized from this page. Users may choose the color and template of their ad links and search results so that they are more integrated into the site’s overall appearance and therefore will likely be clicked more frequently.

Another way in which AdSense users can customize the ads that appear on their page is by applying and adjusting several filters, which can be used to filter out competitors’ advertisements, as well as ensuring that content on the site is relevant and appropriate. If users do not feel that many of the ads selected by AdSense are useful, they can also set their own default advertisements or fill the space with a solid color until better ads are available.

Available Types and Formats

Currently, AdSense offers text only, image, video ads, link units, and referral buttons in a variety of shapes and sizes. Note that some ad sizes only support text or images:

Text, Image, and Video Ads:

  • 728 x 90 Leaderboard
  • 468 x 60 Banner
  • 234 x 60 Banner
  • 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper
  • 120 x 600 Skyscraper
  • 120 x 240 Vertical Banner
  • 336 x 280 Large Rectangle
  • 300 x 250 Medium Rectangle
  • 180 x 150 Small Rectangle
  • 250 x 250 Square
  • 200 x 200 Small Square
  • 125 x 125 Button

Link Units:

  • 728 x 15
  • 468 x 15
  • 200 x 90
  • 180 x 90
  • 160 x 90
  • 120 x 90
Reporting

The final function of the control panel is to report the users’ earnings through their ads. AdSense offers several ways to customize these reports. Updated hourly, reports on earnings can be sorted by page, date, ad type, and a number of other factors.

Users can create both URL and customized channels in the advanced reporting tab of the control panel. With URL channels, site owners can create clusters of URLs to see which pages or clusters of pages are earning them the most money through advertisements.

Customizable channels allow users to create their own groups of links, allowing them to test, for example, whether their red banner ads or their blue side links generate more clicks so that they can alter the layout of their site accordingly.

How to Get Started

To become an Adsense publisher, prospective users must complete a short online application on their website.

Google AdSenseAfter 2-3 days, AdSense will process the application and reach a decision on whether to support the site or sites, as AdSense will support multiple sites for only one user. After they accept, users simply need to log on, select which type of ads they wish to display, and customize their options.

When this is completed, AdSense will generate an html code that site owners can simply paste into their page like any other code. This will allow the advertisements to show in this space. For the first day or two, only public service ads may appear, for which the site owner will not be paid. These can, however, be replaced by the site owner by default ads or a solid color. After Google’s bots have inventoried the site, however, content specific links should begin to show and site owners will be paid for the clicks these links receive.

Continued service from the AdSense network is contingent upon users obeying their terms and conditions, which include not clicking their own ad links, not bribing others to click the links or pointing them out in any way, and not displaying pornography or anything illegal on their site. It is acceptable, however, to have non-Google ads on the site as long as it is clear that they are unrelated to the Google ads.

Payment

Receiving payments from this network is fairly simple. AdSense offers both EFT and mailed checks in the user’s specified local currency. When a site owner’s ad revenue reaches $100 or greater, a payment will be issued to that owner within 30 days of the end of that month. If revenues do not reach $100, the account balance is rolled over to the next month and does not expire.

Referral Program

Google's AdSense does have a referral program. Unfortunately, due to its immense popularity, it is difficult finding prospective publishers who have not already signed up.

In January of 2007, Google simplified their referral payouts by removing their various payment tiers and limiting it to the following:

When a referral earns $100 within 180 days of sign-up and is eligible for payout, the referring publisher will be credited with $100.

More Information and Support

Google is very thorough in supplying information about AdSense, and information regarding a vast range of issues and possible problems is available at AdSense’s main website, along with demos and guides designed to walk new users through most of AdSense’s functions. News, updates, and tips are also available at www.adsense.blogspot.com. Finally, the support staff at AdSense is reachable by email and usually responds politely and intelligently within 1-2 days of receiving an inquiry.

Summary

Adsense is a very user friendly ad network that is simple to set up and run for even new site owners. Its targeted advertising makes it more likely that the posted advertisements will appeal to site viewers, and the Google search feature allows site owners to keep viewers on their site longer and also lets them receive revenue for clicked searches.

Reports are customizable so that Adsense users can view and maximize their profits, and receiving payments from AdSense is simple for most people with a major bank account.

Overall, AdSense seems to be a very simple and flexible advertising network.

Google AdSense Program Review

Google AdSense Guide
The Definitive Guide to Google AdSense: the complete step by step road map for making and maximising your income from Google's AdSense program.

Google AdSense, Google's advertising program that lets webmasters display ads from Google's extensive list of advertisers, has taken the Internet by storm. Through this successful program, unobtrusive text-based ads are served in member sites, who then earn a commission every time someone clicks on the advertisers' links.

At this point in time, the jury is still out on whether this program will continue to enjoy its initial success. That is why, through this article, we want to give you some highlights and insights on how the Google Adsense program has worked for us, one month after we signed up for it, so that we can use it as a checkpoint for future analysis.

Why is Google AdSense so Popular?
Google AdSense uses Google's proprietary Page Rank TM search technology to deliver ads that are highly relevant to the content of a page. Google's engine will scan through the content of the page to determine its topic, and will then serve ads that are relevant to the page's content.

Running Google AdSense is simple and straightforward: Google gives you a snippet of HTML code that you can paste in the desired location on your page, and the ads start appearing immediately after you upload the changes to your server.

However, Google AdSense's main claim to fame is that, by displaying text-based ads, it is able to deliver much higher click-through rates than traditional graphic banner ads. As usability studies have widely shown, users are already conditioned to ignore banner ads (or anything else that looks like them). As a result, banner ad click-through rates have dropped below a dismal 0.5% (in other words, it takes 200 page views, on average, to get someone to click on a banner ad).

By using text based ads instead of graphic banners, Google has been able to overcome banner ad blindness, delivering click-through rates that are much higher than the industry's average (some put the figure around the 1.5% mark).

How much can you expect to earn by running Google Ads on your site?
The pay-off per click varies widely depending on what each advertiser decides to offer, based on the profitability of their products and their expected conversion rate (percentage of clicks that deliver a sale). Google is not saying what the average pay-off is nor how does it share the revenue per click with their AdSense partners, but how much you will earn per click will really depends on the topic and the product being advertised. Products with profit margins of $3.00 for the advertiser will probably give you a smaller pay-off per click than a product with a $300 profit margin. Similarly, ads with high conversion rates will normally give you higher payouts than less effective ads, since they can afford to pay more dollars per click, with a portion of that money going to you.

So, just for the sake of giving an example, lets say that your site receives 1,000 page views per day. At a 1.0% click-through rate and $0.50 pay-off per click to you, in a 30-day month you can expect to make:

1,000 x 30 x 1.0% x $0.50 = $150

The more traffic your site has, the more clicks (and the larger the pay-off) you will get.

Will Google's AdSense continue to be successful?

This is the big question, and nobody has a definite answer yet.
